The Chinese people, grateful to Lenin, Stalin and the people of the Soviet Union, celebrate the 33rd anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution.

A year ago, the revolution of the Chinese people was crowned with a nation-wide victory. The Chinese people, who gained the victory after having overcome numerous difficulties and set-backs over a period of more than 30 years, have always profoundly felt that the October Socialist Revolution of 1917 is the real herald and inspirer of the revolutionary struggles of modern China. Under the influence of the October Socialist Revolution, the Chinese working class and the Chinese people learned the invincible revolutionary theory of Marxism-Leninism, and created a revolutionary political party of the proletariat along the lines indicated by Lenin and. Stalin, namely, the Communist Party of China. The Chinese people have achieved their great historic triumph under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, armed with the theory of Marxism-Leninism and headed by Comrade Mao Tse-tung, loyal pupil of Marx and Lenin.

The October Socialist Revolution has profoundly influenced the Chinese people. For 33 years, the people of the Soviet Union have never failed to extend their friendly help to the Chinese people. The victories scored in the Second World War—in which the army of the Soviet Union played the vital role in opposing the German, Japanese and Italian fascists—and in the struggles waged against imperialism by the Soviet Union, the People's Democracies and the people of other countries after the Second World War, were the international conditions of decisive significance contributing to the triumph of the Chinese people in their revolution.

The Chinese people fully understand that it is only with the help of the Soviet Union and the people of other countries, and the international solidarity against imperialism, that the victory of the Chinese revolution could be achieved and can be consolidated. The Great October Socialist Revolution links the revolutionary struggle waged by the proletariat in the West with that waged by the oppressed peoples in the East, thus creating a revolutionary front against world imperialism. This revolutionary front was the most important guarantee for the Chinese people that they could achieve and consolidate the victory of their revolution.

The international anti-imperialist revolutionary front, headed by the Soviet Union, has been further strengthened in the past year by the establishment of the People's Republic of China and the conclusion of the Sino-Soviet Treaty of Friendship, Alliance and Mutual Assistance on February 14, 1950. The solidarity between the peoples of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and the new People's Democratic China, numbering 700,000,000 over one-third of the world's population, is an invincible force that will defeat the imperialist policies of aggression and war and secure world peace. The great and unselfish aid given by the Soviet Union to the Chinese people in the past year has greatly helped the Chinese people, enabling them to perform magnificent achievements in their various enterprises in reconstructing their fatherland.

American imperialism is now starting a new aggression against the People's Republic of China. The flames of aggressive war kindled by American imperialism around China are spreading. The Chinese people have a deep love of peace, but in order to defend peace, they have never been, and will never be, afraid of resisting an aggressive war.

In the past century, the Chinese people have been fighting courageously and stubbornly against imperialism and its lackeys. We are fully convinced that, under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of China, headed by Comrade Mao Tse-tung, and of the Central People's Government, the 475,000,000 Chinese people, inspired by the October Revolution, will thoroughly smash any provocations by the American aggressors.

Long live the Great October Socialist Revolution!

Long live Stalin, the teacher of all the peoples of the world!

Long live the great anti-imperialist solidarity of the peoples of all the countries of the world!

Long live the invincible alliance between China and the Soviet Union!
